On May 8th, the Labgrãos team held another training activity for its interns and students involved in the laboratory’s activities. The workshop focused on “Rice Yield, Milling Yield, and Classification”, covering key concepts related to grain quality and technological evaluation.
The training took place at the laboratory facilities and included practical activities involving rice classification and interpretation of the main quality parameters used in the rice production chain. During the workshop, participants attended technical demonstrations and applied methodologies commonly used in the rice industry.
The course was conducted by graduate students certified by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), providing participants with direct contact with technical procedures aligned with official classification standards and regulations.
This initiative is part of Labgrãos’ ongoing efforts to provide practical training opportunities for students, aiming to connect participants with real demands from the agro-industrial sector and strengthen technical qualification in postharvest, grain quality, and grain technology areas.
According to the organizing team, activities like this contribute to the professional development of interns by promoting the integration of teaching, research, and laboratory practice applied to the regional agribusiness sector.
